Fred's Doublet Update & Living Timeline of Arms and Armor

I've got a lot of progress made on Fred's doublet.
• The outer shell and liner are both cut out
• The outer shell is assembled and ready for the trim to be attached
• The bottom tabs are made
• Outer sleeves are pinned and ready to sew
• The wings are cut, pinned and ready to sew

Right now I'm in a bit of a holding pattern waiting for some additional information before I can continue. We've got to finalize the trim pattern, button color, and if there will be buttons on the sleeves. The other big thing to determine is if it's going to need to be legal for SCA rapier armor, if it is I'll need to add an interliner.

In other news I went to the Living Timeline of Arms and Armor at the Higgins Armor Museum yesterday. This was my first time at the museum and it is really impressive. There were only five groups there, but since the museum has limited space, there is not a lot of room for the event to grow much. The pike demonstration by the 17th century group was impressive, and fortunately they did not take out the chandelier. The pikes they were using were 16' ash that had been properly shaped.

I took a bunch of photos as well as some video of the pike demonstration. The photos are posted at http://picasaweb.google.com/114668923291298466424/HigginsArmory#. The video hasn't been posted yet, but I'll post a link once I get it up.
